A Vegetarian Thanksgiving

Last year was my first Thanksgiving as a Vegetarian, and I was scared and confused about what to do. Although you can say that the Holiday isn't about the food, it's about family, let's be honest here. Thanksgiving is Thanksgiving. I've always had a traditional Thanksgiving with my family. We never tried to do anything eclectic, and quite frankly, I always approved of the traditional meal. It was something to look forward too. I never was a big Turkey fan before going Veg, but I would indulge in a small piece. So last year I was posed with the challenge: How do I have a Vegetarian Thanksgiving, and keep it traditional? The sides were easy, for me, but the big question was what to do about the Turkey. The idea of a Tofurkey roast scared me, because I rarely eat tofu. And the idea of any other roast was just as scary. I wanted Thanksgiving back. Somewhere in my brilliant mind, I came up with the idea that frying LightLife Turk'y Deli Slices in Vegetarian Gravy would be a good replacement to the traditional Turkey. Boy, was I wrong. I was a nasty, messy disaster, and I spent the rest of the day bummed out because I really wanted a normal Thanksgiving dinner, that wouldn't compromise my morals. Since that ill-fated Thanksgiving of yesteryear, I have discovered the magical, magical brand of faux-meats, Quorn. I absolutely love Quorn. Made from mycoprotein, this UK brand has the texture, flavor, and moisture of the real meats it replicates. Or so I hope. See, I've never had their Turk'y roast, but I am crazy in love with all aspects of their Chik'n cutlets, of all flavors! I have heard only great things about the Turk'y roast, so I decided to pick one up for the Big Day. This will be my first time trying the Quorn Turk'y Roast, so join with me as I document what I hope to be a delicious, Vegetarian Thanksgiving!
